This mural was inspired by a photograph taken by Eliane Cadieux inside a house featuring hardwood surfaces, sleek furniture and an indoor pool. The composition reflects the harmony of the space: the geometry of the building, the warmth of the wood, the composition of the pool.

The cut-out shapes reflect the architectural rigor of vertical and horizontal lines, counterbalanced by the fluidity of softer flat tints evoking water and furniture. The eclectic palette is more reminiscent of the 70s. A way of interpreting an interior based on its main shapes. The play of topstitching counterbalances the flatness of the colors, adding texture and dimension to the piece;

Raw appliqué technique

Shapes are applied without folding, directly onto the background, using the raw appliqué method. This technique gives the material room to move, while revealing the cuts and gestures. Manual free-motion topstitching then defines the volumes and suggests certain textures, without freezing them.
