A textile reading of the dialogue between constructed and living material.
Composition
This wall piece is inspired by a photograph by Eliane Cadieux, which precisely captures the balance between human design and natural elements. The composition was born from this cohesion: the one created between the controlled lines of built heritage, plant textures, and mineral surfaces.
Through textile assembly, these elements become shapes and contrasts: geometric volumes, flat colors, irregular lines. The whole evokes both the structure of a thoughtfully designed garden and the unpredictability of plant growth. An anchored, sober composition that reflects on how the landscape is inhabited.
Raw appliqué technique
The shapes are hand-cut and applied directly onto the background, following the raw appliqué technique. The edges are left exposed, allowing the fabric to react over time. Each piece is then manually stitched in free motion, adding relief and a finer reading of the different areas.
