Julie Delporte is an author and multidisciplinary artist born in France and living in Montreal for many years. For her birthday, her parents asked her what she wanted. For Julie, the love and closeness of her parents was what she missed the most, especially given the health crisis (COVID-19). Rather than a monetary or utilitarian gift, she wanted something that would be a direct nod to her parents and that could comfort her during the more difficult times. She proposed the project of co-creating a custom quilt and they were thrilled with the project!
With her talents as an illustrator, Julie quickly got involved in the creative project by offering design and color inspirations. The result of this exchange is a collective gift that will stay with Julie for a long time, with a very special meaning. The addition of a personalized embroidery gives the quilt the meaning it was designed for: from mom and dad who love you.
