Last September, the phone rang with an unprecedented proposal: to create a stage costume for comedian Jo Cormier's very first show. With only one month to go before the media premiere, this request came at a perfect time for our intensive production period in the workshop for the Christmas market season. Needless to say, the challenge was great.
To complete the creative team, we immediately called upon Montreal fashion designer Odeyalo. From there, we had the mandate to create the quilt from which a custom-made coat would be cut and assembled according to the artist's measurements and needs.
A quilted coat that makes people talk
Despite a lot of sweat and a few extra hours, Jo Cormier was able to make a triumphant entrance wearing his quilted coat for his media premiere and his very first interview on ''Tout le monde en parle.''
We are deeply grateful and proud of this unique project, which will be performed on stages across Quebec. Thank you to the artists for highlighting and showcasing Quebec artisans through these collaborative projects!
