A textile interpretation of a structured and immersive interior.

Interior

This wall artwork is inspired by a photograph by Eliane Cadieux taken inside a house where hardwood surfaces, minimalist furniture, and an indoor pool coexist. The composition conveys the harmony of the space: the geometry of the structure, the warmth of the wood, the composition of the pool.

Through the cut shapes, one finds the architectural rigor of vertical and horizontal lines, balanced by the fluidity of softer areas evoking water and furniture. The palette, eclectic, references the 70s more. A way to interpret an interior based on its main shapes. The play of stitching counterbalances the flatness of the colors and adds textures and dimensions to the piece. 

Raw appliqué technique

The shapes are applied without folding, directly onto the background, using the raw appliqué method. This technique allows for movement in the material while revealing the cutouts and the gesture. The manual free motion stitching then defines the volumes and suggests certain textures without freezing them.
